Where you fit

You’ll be joining a dynamic, growing team of experts in analytics, with a focus primarily on expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection across multi-functional teams.

Based in London, this is a fast-paced environment with ever changing needs, where you’ll bring your experience as a data pipeline builder and data analyst to optimize or even re-design data systems, growing them from the ground up to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

What’s the role?

As Data Engineer, you’ll be supporting our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on a range of data initiatives. Always ensuring optimal data delivery architecture is consistent across on-going projects, whilst confidently assisting with data-related technical issues and data infrastructure needs.

To succeed, you’ll need to relish the opportunity to be autonomous, whilst simultaneously offering data support to multiple teams, systems and products, as you manage wide-ranging duties including:

  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements.

  • Assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.

  • Building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.

  • Building analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

Your input is going to be vital one, as you provide strong project management and organizational skills alongside your excellent interpersonal skills. Working successfully with diverse global stakeholders, including data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

Requirements:

What we need from you

We’ll be calling on your Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field, along with your strong experience in a data engineering role. Beyond that, we’re keen to talk to men and women with as many of the following on your CV:

  • Skills in IT Architecture, business analysis and integration solutions.

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Proven expertise in manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.

  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
