Job Summary
AECOM are further developing and growing our Interior Design practice in response to a variety of market opportunities and enterprise priorities.
With product and service quality considered a key priority in B+P’s strategic agenda, we are looking for an experienced, influential and passionate person, with a track record in leading professional practice standards, to lead the Interior Design practice line across EMIA.
As Interior Design Practice Line Leader for Europe, Middle East, India and Asia (EMIA), in collaboration with your fellow B+P leads in Architecture, Building Engineering, PCC and Design, Planning & Economics, you will be responsible for:
Developing the wider B+P practice strategy
Working to become the best-in-class partner for our chosen clients, by anticipating our clients’ needs through the delivery of high-quality, innovative outcomes
Raising the profile of our thought leadership and the Interior Design practice across the business internally, and also externally
Leading on sharing best practice to support our technical teams
Inspiring and supporting our people, helping them to build satisfying and fulfilling careers with us
Solving the challenges created by complex projects of all sizes drawing on your creativity and ingenuity
Being accountable, through both influencing and collaborating with the B+P Metro leaders, for reducing project losses through successful project delivery and flawless execution.
Reporting directly to the EMIA Architecture Lead, you will work collaboratively with a talented team of multidisciplinary design, management and technical professionals, and will focus on championing and embedding a culture of technical excellence and advancement across the practice, whilst providing and encouraging insightful thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop an Interior Design practice plan
Primary Responsibilities:
Development of commercial interiors practice processes and activities across EMIA to take cognisance of changes in digital technologies including job running/QA procedures and cultural reinforcement.
Business development, focussing on the fully integrated multidisciplinary offer, in close collaboration with CAMs & Market Sector leads
Project Review Process including technical aspects
Graduate intake & development, including liaison with university departments on curriculum etc
Lead the development & growth of interiors practice in AECOM Multidisciplinary Practice Groups across EMIA
Raise the industry profile of AECOM Interior Design in a manner which complements the emerging AECOM design brand
Lead the execution of the EMIA Interior Design Plan , including:
Support Regional Interiors Leads to meet their practice development targets
Leadership and development of the EMIA Interiors practice; responsible for driving the growth, strategy and sale of interiors services across the geography.
Define and build the practice’s brand and reputation externally, with particular
Drive the continued improvement of innovation, design and creativity; support best practice project delivery (processes, delivery model and resources), leadership and reputation.
Engage with other geographies to make available key staff in support of bid development and project delivery activities.
Mentor, coach and develop key staff and assist them to achieve their full potential in line with the needs of strategic plans.
Attract, develop and retain industry leaders and prominent technical specialists to strengthen the AECOM brand and performance.
Provide global design leadership through design reviews or involvement in conceptual design stage for key international projects. #LI-JT1##LI-#LI-
Minimum Requirements
The post holder will possess the following skills:
Have successfully built and led interiors teams from Stage 0 through to completion, with demonstrable success.
A strong track record in Business Development, work winning and project delivery
Exceptional and recognised client facing skills
A working knowledge of the integration of BIM technologies into design practices
Be familiar with the practice culture which is required to achieve a ‘high design’ interiors product
Able to lead the process for mentoring of graduates & development of professional training programme for interior design
Experience in architectural practice accreditation to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, development and implementation
Be a proven practitioner with significant international project experience
Preferred Qualifications
Ideally Degree qualified in Architecture or other relevant professional discipline. Appropriate chartered status is advantageous.
Have proven experience of practice management and leadership
Will have successfully led multidisciplinary teams of 50+ people from Stage 0 to completion in a range of sectors & typologies
Possess significant client facing capabilities
Be familiar with the practice culture which is required to achieve a ‘high design’ architectural product
Will be a proven practitioner with significant project experience across the Region
