POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Global Head of Anti-Bribery & Corruption, the Financial Crime Officer is responsible primarily for performing and reviewing the output of robust due diligence checks of potential Third Party (business) Providers (‘TPPs’), M&A targets and subjects of internal investigations using various due diligence sources and proprietary databases. As a member of the Global Financial Crime team, the Financial Crime Officer will handle reviews of TPPs globally for all MMC Operating Companies (including Marsh, Oliver Wyman, MMA, Mercer, and Guy Carpenter). Case management and due diligence research is time-sensitive and the TPP due diligence process is a critical part of the TPP Procedures designed to mitigate and identify potential corrupt relationships and conflicts of interest related to third parties. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. For Third Party Providers Review TPP applications through an anti-bribery and corruption lens to spot high risk issues or areas of concern. Review TPP Business Cases and Due Diligence Questionnaires and obtain any missing documents/information from the business. Perform on-line research using publicly available sources (e.g., Google) and proprietary databases (e.g., WorldCompliance). Liaise with business stakeholders on TPP queries and TPP system assistance. Coordinate with the TPP team in the Global Financial Crime team in India. Resolve problems in a timely manner, mitigating FCPA and UK Bribery Act risks and in compliance with MMC's policies. Produce Management Information for stakeholders on TPPs and TPP payments. Manage FATCA Requirements where applicable. Maintain Due Diligence and TPP procedure documents. Complete essential periodic activities – TPP system User Audit Reviews, Correspondent list updates etc. 2. Perform other projects as requested, including ad hoc financial crime checks, anti-bribery and corruption assessments and gift and entertainment expense reviews. 3. For M&A targets and internal investigations: Perform on-line research on the target(s) using publicly available sources (e.g., Google) and proprietary databases (e.g., WorldCompliance). Examine preliminary findings in more detail as required. Document, draft and present findings to stakeholders. 4. Keep up-to-date on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act and other anti-bribery and corruption regulations and how changes in these could affect MMC's TPP policies . KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Knowledge of key Financial Crime risks and regulations/legislation. Proficient research skills. Excellent writing skills. Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally to all levels of colleagues in the organization. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Must be able to work in a high visibility area and handle a significant workload, under time pressure. Must be able to work in team environment.
