Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Negotiates all legal costs submissions for both plaintiff and defence legal teams ensuring that the company pay no more than the market standard levels in all cases. Authorises claims payments within sanctions authority agreed with and approved by Claims Manager. Review and authorise claim reserves as and when required. Ensure that agreed service targets are achieved and maintain quality of output. Develop and maintain effective relationships with external contacts and liaise with relevant parties internally on quality of service provided and on product information. Evaluate information received and communicate as appropriate to all relevant parties. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

This role negotiates and settles Legal cost bills in accordance with Travelers philosophy. Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience of negotiating legal costs bill associated with litigation. Experience of handling files from notification to settlement including attending circuit and high court cases.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:

Progression towards CIP, Costs Lawyer or CILEx qualification desirable
