Where you fit in

You’ll be joining our Emergency Preparedness and Response team, with a focus on ensuring our businesses have the right plans and training to manage potential or actual incidents with consequences to our People, Assets, Environment or reputation.

What’s the role?

As a Senior Emergency Response Specialist, you’ll be developing, maintaining and reviewing Emergency Response activities.

You’ll be accountable for developing and maintaining emergency response plans for all types of facilities across the globe, training and exercising the emergency response teams for each asset and serve as a Tier 3 Incident Commander and/or Section Chief.

You’ll also be accountable for supporting assurance and governance provided to our Upstream and New Energies Emergency Response Teams to consistently implement systems, processes and programs to satisfy Shell and Regulatory requirements.

We expect you’ll be the type of person who has experience in leading emergency response incidents and the courage to intervene and challenge the status quo. You will also be a great team player who uses your natural people skills to nurture relationships with stakeholders at a wide range of levels, collaborating with the international team, vendors, agencies and local authorities.

What we need from you

We expect you to have a Bachelors degree and extensive experience in Emergency Incident Management. Beyond that, we’re keen to hear from men and women with as much of the following on your CV:

  • Extensive experience in leading emergency response incidents, including serving in an Incident Command System role Ability to travel 30% - 50% and be available to respond to incidents 24/7 if required

  • Strong experience in managing complex end to end projects

  • Strong technical writing and document management skills

  • Certified as a trainer for Incident Command System Courses (ICS-300 and other) would be an advantage

  • Ability to interface and influence a wide variety of stakeholders

  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills

  • Self-starter who can work and set direction with nominal supervision
