Purpose & Accountability:
The position of Senior Nautical Advisor sits within Shipping & Maritime Technology and Innovation, Nautical team and reports to the Manager Marine Facilities - STS/36.
You will be part of the busy Marine Facilities team (Nautical Discipline), providing technical marine consultancy to Shell Group Companies, Joint Ventures and Third Parties. You will work within multi – discipline project teams delivering innovative and industry leading solutions to provide safer, cleaner and more efficient energy solutions within the maritime environment.
You will be exposed to project management and commercial considerations of Shell and Joint Venture capital projects. You will also be exposed to the ongoing development and improvement of various Nautical related industry standards, through Shell’s association with industry bodies OCIMF, SIGTTO, SGMF..etc.
Delivering expertise and support on the Nautical (Navigation, Cargo operations and mooring) design, engineering and construction elements for maritime assets, including:
LNG as marine fuel
Floating LNG [FLNG]
Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRU’s)
Terminals, Berths and channels
Floating Production Storage and Offtake (FPSO’s)
Identify and deliver Maritime Innovation projects to meet our safer, cleaner most efficient aspirations

London - Strand
A Class 1 Master Mariners Certificate of Competency
Seagoing experience in the rank of Master on LNG vessels
Project Management qualification or experience preferred
A team player with the necessary leadership and communication (oral and written) skills to interface effectively with stakeholders.
The ability to maintain an organised schedule in times of peak work load and work with minimal supervision
The ability to produce written reports of a high quality in the English language
Suitable computer skills.
