Senior Portfolio Analyst (D)

The Senior Portfolio Analyst will be responsible as the single point of contact for supporting Info Tech in both the Portfolio and finance focused Plan, Procure, Pay (PPP) Teams reporting into the VP - Portfolio Management.

The Portfolio teams focus is managing the end to end process from demand to project delivery for all of Info Tech.

The PPP teams focus is managing the end to end process for securing budget, support with the management of budget, forecasting and all reports associated with finances.

Includes line management of a small team that could include staff in UK, US and offshore

Job Description:

Portfolio:

Own the planning & communication of the Ops reporting timetable and delivery of the Ops reporting pack for the Monthly Information Technology review which, by working with the program leads, includes adherence to the timetable and minimum rework to the data

Support VP - Portfolio Management in the management of data/information for all senior leadership team meetings

Manage and support the end to end Demand to Project Close process for all Info Tech requests including Business case reviews, Pre IRB reviews

  • Adhoc requests to support CIO, leadership team or team

PPP:

Act as SPOC for all strategic work including but not limited to 3 Year Planning, Strat Planning, Op Planning, Quarterly Forecasting

Support the Project Analysts by ensuring that project leads are tracking finance actuals to YTD planned/forecast by facilitating a monthly call and communicating actions needed to correct the data being presented in the Finance tracker

Work closely with CIO directs to ensure visibility to project and BAU budgets, highlighting poor performance areas and variances that need to be addressed and also making recommendations to either meet spend or savings targets

Work with all of the Info Tech team to ensure that all technology spend requests follow the correct processes

Work with the Finance business partner to address issues and clear blockers where appropriate

Processes

  • Own and enhance the Portfolio & PPP governance, standards and processes ensuring that there is a plan and mechanism for keeping all project/program leads in Information technology ‘trained’/informed and using the correct tools

  • Support and maintain the roll out of new demand management process including data quality checks, adherence to the process, monitoring and tracking submissions

  • Support annual work on goals and KPIs for leadership team.

  • Design, implement & manage the process of project closure and the handover into a BAU environment including Techops & AMS support processes are in place

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in working within a PMO environment

  • Understanding of finance i.e capex, opex, budgeting, planning, forecasting

  • Proven experience aligning and holding stakeholders to account

  • Strong skills in critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions (e.g. partnering, conflict management, consulting, etc.).

  • Proven capability to understand and meet requirements from both internal and external customers

  • Must be able to identify and work with stakeholders to collect, aggregate, and evaluate requirements in light of current and future technology, resources, and budgets

  • Must be able to understand the overall business strategy to ensure components of the Platform and technology capabilities vision align with those of management and other stakeholders

  • Must be able to weigh the value of delivery against the impact of the change to our application ecosystem, resources at hand, and future of the technology landscape

  • Strong skills in office tool sets, including excel
