Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Investigating and analysing the pros and cons of new our SB product or future SB product changes and developments. You’ll gather information on exposures, claims analysis, actuarial data and market research/data to support any decision making

  • Working with the SB unit to optimise profit and growth strategies, balancing expense, loss and growth performance for SB portfolio

  • Monitoring SB portfolio results (profitability analysis, quarterly loss trends, productivity, flow metrics) and make necessary recommendations for corrective actions

  • Ensuring the health of the portfolio by monitoring competitor behaviours, market place dynamics, pricing segmentation, and line and segment level analysis.

  • Effectively communicating financial results, recommending changes to factors that influence trading results by distribution channel and impact of actions (underwriting, pricing)

Collaboration is key. To manage a successful portfolio you’ll need to work closely with colleagues across Travelers in Europe and the USA.

  • You’ll collaborate with the SB Underwriter, Actuarial, Distribution, Claims, Risk Control, Regional Branch Managers and segment Portfolio Managers to develop and execute product, service offerings and pricing strategies to achieve financial targets for SB portfolio.

  • You’ll also work closely with the above to analyse potential deals via schemes, DUAs and MGAs, make recommendations and monitor deal performance with corrective actions as necessary.

  • Work collaboratively with US product Select product management CoE to understand, adapt capabilities locally to assist monitor health of the business with consistent reporting, maximise efficient analysis and develop market specific tactics.

Job Summary:

Travelers Europe has a fantastic opportunity for a Product Manager to lead the newly created Small Business (SB) portfolio in Travelers Europe. The SB team has huge growth plans for the next five years, and beyond. We want you to take responsibility for unlocking new opportunities and building out the premium and loss account to achieve the portfolio’s ambitions.

From day one you will have significant backing and financial investment from both Travelers Europe and our colleagues in the U.S. as we look for ways to more efficiently assist our brokers through better use of technology and trading deals.

As the SB Product Manager you will be responsible for, and be able to directly influence, the production, profitability, monitoring, management, strategic direction and execution of business of the whole portfolio

Position Type:


Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:

You will typically have some prior product management experience along with comprehensive Property and Casualty industry knowledge. Typically you will have in depth knowledge/experience in two or more Commercial product lines. You will preferably have comprehensive knowledge of pricing and actuarial techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

You will need to have a Bachelors Degree, along with previous experience in data analytics, Property Casualty insurance and in managing profit and loss sheets.

Licensing or Certificates:
