Department Overview The MMC Tax Department is comprised of a dynamic team of tax professionals managing MMC’s internal tax matters and compliance processes as well supporting other internal functions and businesses across the MMC network across the globe.
Key Responsibilities Supports tax matters affecting countries within the EMEA region (excluding UK/Ireland), working with regional financial managers and outside consultants Manages the administration of the local income tax provision process, local income tax compliance and indirect taxes for EMEA Works closely with the businesses and other functional areas to provide tax guidance and support on corporate income tax, indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and legal entity structures Reviews Income Tax Reporting (ASC 740) Packages in Excel or One Source (tax software); reviews the monthly local income tax provision computations and quarterly US GAAP income tax provisions which are reported to MMC Tax in the USA Manages transfer pricing analysis of all intercompany transactions from a tax perspective and characterization of service for countries assigned Administers SOX Controls for the tax environment; leads and implements process improvements for direct and indirect taxes of the countries assigned Maintains a current awareness of local tax legislation and case law that would impact the company's operations and establishes proactive plans accordingly, for both cash and financial tax reporting purposes Leads and assists with regional tax audits at the national and provincial levels Reviews the FIN 48 (ASC 740-10) documentation and other support documentation from a SOX perspective on a quarterly basis
