Opportunity to shape the way forward of the core transaction system.
We are looking for a Technical Consultant with extensive payment card systems technology experience in the B2B segment to join Shell Fleet Solutions and oversee our core card issuing and processing platform(s).
Technical Consultant will manage timely design, development, and delivery of quality software products in Fleet Solutions, which meet company specific established requirements, standards and timeframes.
Technical Consultant will be responsible for providing high quality design documentation to enable the production of easily maintainable, scalable technical solutions to both enhance the IT infrastructure and provide a platform for business growth.
Role responsibilities include offering technical support to analysts, developers and Shell Fleet Solutions business stakeholders to ensure the most appropriate solutions are provided.
Provide technical leadership within technology function to assure timely design, development, and delivery of quality software products
Produce high quality technical documentation to enable the production of easily maintainable, scalable technical solutions to both enhance the IT infrastructure and provide a platform for business growth.
Scope for influencing design and architecture
Builds & enhances the developer community across our organisation
Liaise with multiple technology teams, operations and product contacts of varying degrees of seniority to facilitate delivery
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of software for the vast transaction volume
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Responsible for monitoring performance against the plan and, where necessary, take appropriate corrective actions to ensure the goals are met

We’re keen to hear from individuals with the following on their CV:
Highly experienced at building and maintaining payments and transactional systems
Significant experience in a system development environment, utilising conventional systems analysis and design techniques
A proven ability to convert conceptual ideas to working business systems
Understanding of performance testing and optimization techniques, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and test automation
Proven experience of MS SQL Server including replication
Proven experience of C#.Net, ASP.Net and Web Service development (REST/SOAP)
Experience of Agile software development practices
Knowledge of MS TFS, Git Repository, Jira and VSTS
Ability to see the bigger picture and think holistically
Good leadership, relationship building and negotiation skills
The ability to manage and motivate teams
Experience with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is desirable
