Job Description:

The role of Chief Data Officer – Finance IT, will be part of the far-reaching team that will help us achieve these ambitions. Your unique mix of IT expertise and business analysis will be crucial in creating a strong strategic direction, and embedding the pivotal role of finance across Shell. You’ll also be expected to:

  • Develop the finance data strategy, leveraging transformational shifts in next generation Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) and Enterprise Performance management (EPM).

  • Act as a focal point for Finance IT to drive the Value from Data (VfD) through delivering the Finance strategy and developing future opportunities by understanding the business goals and drivers in support of ‘World Class Finance’.

  • Support the Finance IT roadmap, in particular ensuring data foundations are strategically considered.

  • Remove data obstacles and blockers to deliver the agreed Finance Data Strategy, ensuring a robust IT delivery engine for the opportunities in the data funnel.

Where you fit in

Shell Finance is already a leader in the application of data science, with a Data Operations team that’s rapidly growing. You’ll operate as a key person in the Finance IT team, using your natural people skills to lead and support your team, as well as nurture good working relationships with a wide range of senior IT and business stakeholders.

Requirements:

Naturally, you’re someone who’s passionate about how digitalisation can radically transform finance. Along with your experience in IT and finance, you’ll also have the senior leadership experience to drive results and partner with the business to support their strategic objectives. Beyond that we’re keen to hear from individuals with as many of the following:

  • IT Management experience leading data & information strategy & governance.

  • Expertise in data analytics, management information, information management and programme management

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with SAP (any product)

  • High level business partnering skills with the leadership experience in building relationships with senior stakeholders.

  • Experience of planning skills and business analysis.

  • Experience in the Finance domain and understanding of finance processes, supporting the Finance function from the IT side
