Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible to the Vice President of Operations for managing and providing daily supervision and leadership of all programs, projects and program managers (PM) in the Modernization as a Service (MaaS) portfolio. MaaS is a cutting-edge program that provides the Government with fully turn-key modernized solutions to include environment, network, security, cloud, methodologies, software, and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide management oversight of MaaS programs and will support other MaaS BD efforts at large

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of company Program Managers and staff that mirror the adopted mission and core values of the MaaS portfolio of the company.

  • Directly responsible for developing Mobilization as a Service solution in response to Request for Pricing/Request for Quotes.

  • Lead the implementation of MaaS solutions on awarded contracts to include major project oversight and execution of buildouts.

  • Maintain oversight of monthly program financials to ensure profitability.

  • Maintain oversight over timecards and ensure DCAA guidelines are followed, and timecards are signed and approved promptly.

  • Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports and deliverables.

  • Foster an ethical, success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

  • Represent the company with its major customers and business partners.

  • Execute programs and proposals within scope, cost, and schedule.

  • Directly responsible for the leadership and management of the company MaaS portfolio and for providing first-line supervision of all PM and Task Leads within the company

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities may include:

  • Interviewing, hiring and training employees

  • Planning, assigning and directing work

  • Appraising performance

  • Rewarding and disciplining employees.

  • Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant experience as an information technology professional in roles such as a software architect and/or developer, systems engineer, computer engineer, engineering lead, technical team lead.

  • Experience leading DevOps/DevSecOps implementation in large programs especially migrating legacy applications, reengineering, and automating systems to improve end-to-end software life cycle management utilizing automation.

  • Experience implementing DevSecOps for a Cloud-based system on a modernization program, ensuring existing applications and systems are modernized to satisfy legacy functional requirements.

  • Due to geographic diversity of resources, must have demonstrated experience working with remote teams and resources.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

  • Understanding of current technologies as they apply to cloud computing (with an emphasis on AWS), DevSecOps, and Software Development.

  • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to motivate and lead a high performing team

  • Familiarity with responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs)/RFP process a plus.

  • Must be able to multi-task in a high stress, performance-based environment.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

  • Excellent problem solver.

  • Must have the ability to travel as requested or required based on business needs.

  • Must have a working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
