The Public Service Sector consulting practice is a trusted advisor to federal, state and local governments, partnering to meet challenges and responding quickly to citizen demands, business needs, new economic conditions, and changing legislative priorities and policies.
This position requires engineering and installation support of both client and cloud environments. As a member of the FIMS program, the Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will support projects and customers supported by the IBM Federal Infrastructure Managed Services program working closely with the Engineering Technical Delivery Manager as far as tasks and priorities. It requires a junior engineer with a range of experiences including virtualization, datacenter, co-location/Cloud, storage, networking, security, scripting, Windows, and Linux and a desire to grow that skill set. Examples of engineering support tasks listed below.
Manage migration of components into the cloud environment
Provision and de-provision cloud resources
Assistance in security deployment and management
Deploy and sustain virtualization infrastructure
Create and manage virtual network infrastructure and dynamic routing configuration
Create and maintain documentation of the cloud environment
Build and deliver on enterprise technologies and service offerings within the cloud environment
Preferred candidates will have an active US DoD Secret security clearance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
AWS and/or AZURE exposure, knowledge and/or administrative experience
Network foundational knowledge
Identity and Access Management (IAM) exposure, knowledge and/or administrative experience
Windows/Linux administrative experience
Ability to adapt quickly to changing technology requirements
Communication, presentation, and documentation skills
Able to navigate fast-paced and rapidly evolving environments
Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Information Security exposure
Cross domain understanding including cloud, storage, server, virtualization and networking technologies
Cloud AWS/Azure Certifications or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of Agile methodology and Scrum framework
Domain Certifications or equivalent experience
