CBRE Senior Business Systems Analyst - Business Transformation in Los Angeles, California

Position Overview:The Senior Business Systems Analyst (Business Transformation) position is an integral part of the IT team. Overall responsibility for this individual will be to gather business requirements, conduct design workshops, document wireframes and functional specifications, test, train and roll out new customer facing solutions. This position will also be expected to manage assigned projects, track timelines and report status updates/ issues to the Project manager and other stakeholders.

  • Provide business and IT project support by performing data management process assessments, data quality control reviews, data analysis, querying and manipulating data to identify trends and data quality anomalies, and documenting findings. This will allow for the creation of Business Intelligence and Data Management solutions that will help align IT with the business.

  • Gather, analyze, document functional and technical requirements for new projects, enhancements to existing solutions and production issues reported by end users. Articulating those needs to the project team.

  • Perform analysis of reported production problems, determine impact and priority; and recommend corrective actions.

  • Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various applications, which may include Argus Enterprise, Salesforce, OpenText, or in house developed systems I Person will also act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the business community to ask questions, and submit enhancements request or bugs.

  • Contribute/create user guides, reference manuals/ training materials as appropriate.

  • Create business process models using best practice techniques, including current and future state solution design documents.

  • Position might have some domestic & international travel to CBRE Global Investors’ offices.


  • Bachelor's in MIS or Information Technology, or alternatively a degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, with an emphasis in Information Technology or Computer Science.

  • Passion for data analysis and visualization

  • Ability to analyze and document the business process flow, perform data analysis & data mapping exercise. Hands on experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView etc. are a plus.

  • Operate and leverage Agile/Scrum and waterfall methodologies

  • Financial/ Real Estate industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience creating business requirements and functional design documentation.

  • Strong and effective written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate with team members and business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytic skills and ability to learn new concepts quickly and independently.

  • Understanding of relational database concepts and SQL scripting/queries.

  • Financial / Real Estate/ investment management experience will be a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and investigative skills.

  • Hands on experience using SharePoint 2013, especially around using and configuring collaborative team sites.

  • Precise attention to detail with quality of delivery and drive is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience resolving conflicts and major obstacles.

  • Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities are required.


  • Candidate should be comfortable with working in a small team and flexible to accept new challenges.

  • Yardi /MRI or other real estate accounting /management software.

  • Experience with Global software spreadsheet server.

  • Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence (BI) project experience.

  • Open Text Document Management (content server) - document retention project experience.

  • Proven dashboard design and implementation experience

  • Prior documentation samples will be requested for review during the interview process, examples of such documentation include the following;

  • Business requirements document/ user stories.

  • Functional Specifications/requirements document.

  • Test cases.

  • Training materials.
