Oracle Director, Oracle Hospitality DevOps - Application Management Services (AMS) in Louisville, Colorado

Work with a world class team to develop, implement, and support cutting edge Oracle technology.

Manages teams supporting and/or implementing multi-functional and/or multi-location projects and/or systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria. Develops and manages an effective risk mitigation strategy for the project(s).

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Successful track record as a manager. Detailed knowledge of technical and business concepts of a number of related applications areas. BA/BS degree preferred.

The Hospitality Cloud DevOps team is seeking an experienced cloud operations leader to help drive strategy and operations for our Global Application Management Services Team (Hotel SaaS Ops) as we continue our journey to cloud native solutions by driving all of our Managed Hosting infrastructure to Oracle IaaS.

As an AMS Director, you will lead a global team of Application Engineering Managers and Resources to deliver and support Oracle Hospitality s Cloud Solution Portfolio. You will work closely with leadership peers in product development, product cloud enablement, site reliability, support, consulting, sales and cloud customer success to ensure exception customer experience for Oracle Hospitality customers.

As the strategic leader of the team, you ll seek out latest technologies and practices to continuously improve Hospitality Services and Operational Efficiencies. You will be responsible for the application infrastructure and reliability of SaaS services. You will partner with our development, cloud enablement, automation and site reliability leaders to push the boundaries toward scalable, self-healing, autonomous platform solutions. We are looking for someone who is passionate about:

  • Owning availability, reliability, and performance for Hospitality SaaS services on Oracle Global Business Units Cloud Services (GBUCS) and Oracle IaaS (OCI) platforms and operating models.

  • Internal marketing and communications to share activities, plans and achievements of the team

  • Absolute commitment to maintaining current compliance and patching

  • Improving process, quality and velocity of change activity and deployments across the global cloud enterprise

  • Partnering with leaders across product development, cloud enablement, automation and site reliability on technical solutions and continuous improvement for building and maintaining our platform and automation frameworks to ensure maximum up-time and predictability while preventing outages and service interruptions or degradation

  • Partnering with leaders in Product Management, Sales, Consulting, PMO, Support and Cloud Customer Success on service delivery

  • Leading, managing and developing a distributed team of SaaS Engineers, employee enrichment for the team (work-life balance, training, career development)

  • Analyzing system & process failures and developing rapid response processes to ensure such failures do not reoccur (root cause, CAPA)

  • Predicting and providing notice of potential system vulnerabilities for current and future solutions and implementations; providing specific recommendations, guidance and action plans to execute solutions for addressing such opportunities globally

  • In partnership with Hospitality Cloud Enablement Engineering Peer, oversee analyzing, building and maintaining all automation tools and processes to ensure the highest standards of reliability and robustness

  • Fully understanding our customers service needs and ensuring we meet those needs

  • Participating in escalation workflows

_Preferred Qualifications_

  • Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with Oracle Stakeholders & Leadership Peers

  • 10 years of experience supporting large scale distributed systems globally

  • 7 years technical operations leadership

  • 3 years post-mortem assessments and correction action plans

  • Experience planning, supporting, and executing data center migrations

  • Understanding of Hospitality Product Portfolio

  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal customers and executives

  • 7 years of people management and team leadership experience including headcount planning and developing strong and motivated teams

  • Experience creating effective resource plans that ensure a high level of performance

  • Experience developing repeatable processes and metrics that maximum uptime, reliability, and predictability

  • Experience managing complex deployments

  • Successful track record for participation in building and maintaining infrastructure including required monitoring, testing, and tooling

  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies

  • Effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills including interfacing with customers on a professional and cooperative level if needed
