Responsible for monitoring the assigned central telemetry of the adult age patient and documents sample strips indicating unusual rhythm as well as arrhythmias; reports changes in telemetry screens for immediate follow-up action; reports equipment problems for corrective action.This position requires knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical technology as it relates to nursing. The ability to retrieve data from the hospital's information system is required along with the ability to communicate information in a written and auditory fashion. The ability to interact with the public and medical staff is also required. This position requires documented additional training in Cardiac Rhythm interpretations and the ability to recognize and report abnormal Cardiac Rhythm.


  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of didactic and clinical base EKG examinations or State of Florida Licensed Paramedic.
  • Maintains and respects patient confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills and ability to use proper channels of communication.
  • Score of 90% of better or better on Rhythm Test.
