Job Summary

Our Transportation business line is seeking an Engineer/Consultant to join the Development Planning and Engineering group based in Manchester. We would also consider the role on either a full or part-time basis and are happy to look at a range of different working patterns. The successful candidate would join the team with a focus on project delivery.

Our wide range of clients are primarily from the private sector in the UK and overseas and-include developers, land owners, house builders, blue chip companies, universities, local authorities and contractors. The teams also work on a number of multi-disciplinary projects as part of a wider team with their colleagues in AECOM.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage technical input into small - mid-size development planning projects

  • Provides specialised technical input to transport studies and design

  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by others

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables

  • Prepares technical reports including Transport Assessments/ Statements and Travel Plans

  • Provides input to the development of the AECOM team and oversees technical resources to meet requirements

  • Contribute to technical fee proposals

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of standard development transport planning practices, techniques and procedures

Ability to be able to undertake analysis using LINSIG and Junction9 software ​

  • Ability to communicate internally and externally through written and verbal means.

  • Knowledge of the design and how it ultimately interfaces with the client.

  • Understanding of design and planning principles and ability to practically apply them.

  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MSc or Degree in Civil & or Transport related discipline

  • Seeking membership of a relevant professional body
