How will you make an impact?

Support the manufacturing process by performing job duties in a safe and efficient manner by welding all parts and sub-assemblies correctly by the blueprints or specifications in the manufacture of sheet metal parts to provide high quality parts for work cells and allow our team to meet scheduled demands.

What will you do?

  • Select and assemble specified parts - positioning at welder, in fixtures and/or lay out. Spot-weld various components for stress and position using a resistance spot welder. Visually inspects product for defects, measures dimensions or makes adjustments as needed to maintain company quality standards and specified tolerances. Moves products to and from various welding stations.

  • Make adjustments to the spot welder as needed, to include changing the welding arm, welding tips, welding temperature, hold, squeeze, count etc. Makes minor adjustments to parts such as bending, cutting, grinding, and polishing welds.

  • Apply knowledge and experience to accomplish job duties that include verifying products are in square, and modifying products to correct out of conformance issues.

  • Pay attention to PPE and JSA guidelines based equipment, tools, and materials to be handled, to insure personal and environmental safety.

  • Work in teams to accomplish overall plant goals regarding safety, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Read measurement devices such as tape measure, combination square, carpenters square, T square, etc., to build quality products that require exact specifications and rework as needed.

  • Work in hectic, noisy environment and pays special attention to critical processes.

  • Distinguish types of metal, metal thickness, temperature of weld, etc., and appropriate welding procedures based on materials involved.

  • Perform first piece inspection regarding forming sequence, shape, etc. by comparing to model drawing

  • Select equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of measurement, physical properties of metal (weld shrinkage), and welding techniques.

  • Troubleshoot work-related problems by applying knowledge and experience to effectively maintain production/quality goals.

  • Maneuver work pieces by hand in a repetitive manner conductive to efficiency, job specifications, safety, and quality goals.

  • Implement production practices that support and meet ISO standards by locating and referencing respective drawings throughout production.

  • Inspect work piece for defects using templates, drawings, square, tape measure, etc., to identify quality related exceptions using quality manual; judge condition and action to be taken.

  • Maintain a clean, organized work area to support personal and environment safety goals and accomplish quality production.

  • Receive verbal instructions, reads board, or confer with supervisor for work instructions.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.

  • Experience/Training Requirements: One to three years experience or training in TIG Welding is required. One to three years experience or training in MIG Welding is desired.

  • Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, position, move, bend, flip parts in order to accomplish production goals that require loading, adjusting, turning, and removing small and large parts up to 60 lbs.

  • Ability to occasionally lift greater than 75 pounds with assistance.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, reach, lift, sit, in hot, cold, dusty, elevated, noisy area where foot and automated equipment movement, airborne, dust/fumes and ultraviolet light are present.

  • Stands, bends, stretches, reaches, lifts repetitively to accomplish welding and other company-wide production goals.

  • Computer Experience: Ability to maintain basic knowledge of SAP Operating System and Windows Operating System.

  • Qualified candidates will also be required to complete a TIG Welding assessment.
