IBM Compilers UX Design Researcher in MARKHAM, Ontario
As a design researcher on the Compilers team, you will focus on understanding our customers through empirical observation, experience, and making. Design research at IBM is all about uncovering user value and driving actionable insights that can be implemented into a product or offering, but you won't have to do that alone. You'll have the opportunity to work with design colleagues and members of other disciplines
including development and offering management
as well as a world-wide community of other design researchers. Our design research practice continues to evolve, but we have a full suite of generative and evaluative practices available to use, and industry-standard tools at our disposal. We're also fully invested in IBM Design Thinking, and infuse these principles and practices into everything we do.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Design diploma, design degree or equivalent.
Proven skills in academically-rigorous design research methodologies, including (but not limited to): ethnographic observation, structured interviews, survey design; generative and evaluative research; statistical analysis; etc.
A minimum of 2 years doing design research in industry is a must.
Proficiency in English is a must.
An up-to-date design portfolio is a must.
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
One year of practical experience doing design thinking is preferred.
One year of practical application of Agile is also preferred.
