Job Summary

AECOM is currently recruiting for an Environmental Project Coordinator in Ontario. The role will be ideally based in our Markham or Guelph offices, but other locations may be considered. This position will integrate into a team of environmental engineers and scientists to provide coordination of Downstream Assessment and Remediation projects. The successful candidate will bring both technical and field experience. This is a full-time, salaried position.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan and coordinate Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments and remedial works at downstream facilities for large oil and gas clients

  • Provide technical expertise and trouble shooting skills for environmental investigation and remediation projects

  • Assist with developing and mentoring Field Technicians and Site Supervisors

  • Manage productivity of the field team

  • Prepare environmental site investigation reports, groundwater monitoring and sampling reports and remedial action plans (RAPs)

  • Support, implement, and steward AECOM’s/Client’s safety programs by conducting safety audits, investigations, and training exercises

  • Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants, and external agencies

  • Task coordination and diligent health and safety planning

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Geology /Hydrogeology; Environmental Science; or similar

  • 2+ years of professional assessment and remediation experience working with multinational upstream oil and gas clients

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team environment to manage challenging projects

  • Experience coordinating multiple environmental projects

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills that facilitate detailed planning, timely decision-making and efficient implementation

  • A proven ability to analyze data, write technical reports, experience applying Ontario and CCME guidelines, provide quality control and assurance and present results to client is an asset

  • Demonstrate an understanding of contaminant source identification, fate, transport, and exposure pathways through review of historical data and development of conceptual site models

  • Experience with multiple field sampling/testing techniques and prescriptive laboratory sample submission QA/QC procedures

  • Experience with USCS and/or CSSC soil classification systems

  • Full understanding and implementation of ground disturbance procedures/regulations

  • Experience with directing heavy equipment and drill rig contractors

  • H&S training, including Loss Prevention Systems (LPS)

  • Must possess a valid driver's license
