Job Summary

AECOM’s Design and Consulting Services – Americas' legal department is actively seeking a legal summer student for immediate employment in our Markham, Ontario office. The successful candidate will provide legal assistance for the Legal Department.

Responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to:

  • Perform research projects pertaining to issues of law

  • Provide a brief written summary on the findings of the research

  • Review and analyze contracts

  • Draft legal responses to claims

  • Attend client meetings and/or depositions

  • Assist with responding to third-party subpoenas

  • Perform other legal substantive work related to the company’s business

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited law school

  • Excellent analytical and written and oral communications skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, good judgment and confidentiality.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills and ability to multi-task and handle ongoing interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate in French (verbal and written) will be considered an asset.
