Eaton Corporation PD Design Engineer in Mascot, Australia

  • Formulate engineered solutions to meet Eaton’s contractual requirements and satisfy the customer as per the contractual agreement

  • Preparation of drawings, SLDs, schematics and reports both within Eaton and to customers as required.

  • Ensure designs/projects comply with relevant electrical and safety requirements.

  • Gain customer approval/acceptance of all drawings submitted

  • Creation of Item, BOM & routing through Oracle and liaison with procurement and assembly partners

  • Process Engineering Change Orders through Oracle

  • Issue of parts to assembly partners and coordination of project completion

  • Establish testing plans (ITP/ITS) and oversee product testing/FATs

  • Prepare project status reports for management & customer’s.

  • Provide guidance as necessary to procurement and assembly partners for the completion of projects

  • Provide product application support to Marketing, Sales and customers

  • Provide technical support to Operations & QA e.g. test result reviews, product failure investigations, work instructions etc

  • Comply with the company’s policies and procedures

  • Be aware of the companies and your own obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Eaton’s Quality Management System and Eaton Ethical standards

Qualifications

  • Degree electrical engineering qualifications – preferred

  • Experience in a design/manufacturing environment – preferred

  • Experience in electrical switchgear / switchboards / protection schemes – preferred

  • Knowledge of Standards AS/NZS3000, AS/NZS61439 suite & IEC62271 suite - preferred

  • Competent written and verbal communication skills - required

  • Computer literate – Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word - required; AutoCAD experience - preferred (3D highly regarded)

  • Oracle ERP literate - preferred
