Eaton Corporation Manager, Strategic Procurement in Maumee, Ohio
This is a Manager of People role reporting to the Supply Chain Director. This leader directs the Strategic SCM Team (made up of Commodity Managers and Project Leads to develop, deploy and execute direct material cost out projects and commodity strategies for the Fluid Conveyance business (including new product development projects) and financial tracking/supporting for Hydraulic Group SCM performance and forecasting. This leader leads the SCM procurement function for the Fluid Conveyance business to implement standard processes and EBS tools, drive functional improvement and development of the SCM organization, to develop & execute cost out initiatives. This role will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Product Management, Operations and Engineering to develop, manage and implement the annual profit plan cost out strategies which meet the organization’s cost goals and to deploy and standardize SCM processes across the entire organization.
This role is responsible for managing regional procurement activities for over $250M of direct material spend for the Fluid Conveyance Business .
Strategic procurement requires global coordination of sourcing and supplier relationship management, developing strategies, identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities, leading project management activities.
Manager of People – Manage a competent and sustainable team of supply chain project leaders, Commodity Managers and Plant SCM Leads (functionally). Provide leadership in development of individuals within the direct material procurement functions through coaching, goal setting and personal development initiatives.
Provide leadership and guidance in the development of direct material sourcing projects and plans to achieve cost out and project schedule goals and objectives.
Initiate, plan, monitor, execute and close direct material cost down projects within a portfolio program management tool. The projects will provide overall NET savings to achieve SCM objectives.
Deploy EBS procurement tools, processes and procedures, including Eaton Standard Sourcing Process, Project Management SharePoint Database, Approved Supplier List, centralized project planning & coordination, and Net productivity.
Lead and facilitate SCM personnel on development and deployment of Commodity Strategies, SCM Cost Out Project Pipeline, Supplier Risk Reviews, Supplier Relationship Management & Scorecard reviews, LTA negotiations and VA/VE events.
Contribute to supplier performance improvement initiatives related to quality, delivery and capacity.
Lead the annual Profit Plan development SCM Cost Out plans.
Lead and improve the global monthly cost out/cost up/surcharge reporting process, including the rest of year forecast as reported in the Cost Out Database, through the Financial Specialist.
Serve as the SCM Gatekeeper for Fluid Conveyance New Product Development projects moving through ProLaunch to ensure alignment with sourcing strategies and the global manufacturing footprint.
Develop strong positive ethical relationships with suppliers & adhere to Eaton’s Code of Conduct.
Manage supplier compliance and communications associated with Eaton Corporate initiatives (Ethics compliance, EHS requirements, etc.).
Support corporate supply chain programs and initiatives, for example Diversity Spend, International Procurement Office and Project Unify
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
10 years applicable supply chain management experience
5 years of experience managing people
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Master's level degree
Commodity or technical expertise preferred in the areas of Hose Materials and Metals.
Proven ability to effectively communicate across multiple functions and regions
Experience performing analytics in Excel and other advanced tools and translating information into presentations and other communication channels.
Demonstrated project leadership success spanning multiple regions
- Willing to travel at least 10% of the time.
