Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Specialist Senior, Strategy and Analytics, Analytics and Cognitive in McLean, Virginia and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.
Work You’ll Do
Drive advisory and implementation services of large-scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms to unlock the value of big technology investments for projects in the Insurance, Financial Services, Healthcare, State and Local government, Telecom, and Retail industries. Modernize business and core environments to leverage technology innovations across multiple platforms; drive operational efficiency by maintaining data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise for continuous insights and improvements. Perform data management, such as master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality, and data modeling while utilizing technologies including cloudera, Hive, and Microsoft SQL server. Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope, develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between workstreams and identify changes in scope. Lead various aspects of the full data delivery lifecycle for implementations, which may include requirements gathering, business process analysis, scripting, code deployments, enhancement validation, triage of defects, change requests, and escalations of urgent issues. Develop thoughtware and point-of-view documents related to trending topics (such as cloud, machine learning, and the IoT (Internet of Things)); adopt emerging technological trends (such as predictive analytics, cognitive analytics, or machine learning) to develop creative solutions to pressing issues. Provide industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modeling tools to produce analysis and algorithms; consolidate the inferences to present recommendations senior management and executives to enable critical decision making.
80% travel required nationally.
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or a related field and two (2) years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must also have two (2) years of related work experience involving each of the following:
Operationalizing and implementing data management systems using tools including Hadoop, AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure technologies;
Performing Unit testing, Regression testing and Integration testing on designed data management systems including Cloudera and AWS;
Conducting assessment of existing data management systems and related platforms/ecosystems using Big Data Management tools including Apache Spark, Apache Hive, Cloudera, and AWS;
Integrating external source systems into Hadoop data lake using ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) technologies and creating a unified data platform for downstream consumption using ETL tools such as Apache Spark and Apache Sqoop;
Participating in designing and developing machine learning models used to predict various future outcomes based on existing history data using Apache Hive, Apache Spark and Cloudera Big Data Clusters;
Defining and implementing data extraction and data archival policies;
Creating POC (Proof of Concept) designs for machine learning models using Apache Spark, Python, and R technologies;
Developing and maintaining functional specifications, creating stories and tracking progress related to source system data extractions, load and consumption using Microsoft (MS) Sharepoint, Atlassian Confluence, and Atlassian Jira; and
Participating in deployment process, post deployment workshops to identify bottlenecks, and creating and defining processes for transition between environments using Atlassian Bitbucket and MS Git repositories.
