American Water Fleet Specialist in McMurray, Pennsylvania

This position will be responsible for various aspects of operations in the district including but not limited to, day-to-day operations, developing and maintaining vehicle repairs, and working alongside various functional areas within our business. Provides analytical, technical and administrative support for vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Document and report all fleet issues and concerns to Fleet Supervisor.
Assist Fleet Supervisor with issue resolution and documentation.
Attend all local safety meetings.
Monitor all repair requests and escalate issues with fleet contacts.
Work with maintenance vendors to ensure our service level agreements are met.
Develop and maintain vehicle repair documentation to report on duration of vehicles are out of service.
Perform inspections of vehicles in every yard and ensure compliance with our standards (i.e. – proper documents and decals) as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.
Ensure DVIR’s are properly completed and maintained.
Coordinate auction pick up with vendor.
Assist with administration of new vehicle swaps.
Serve as back up to Fleet Supervisor.
Maintains vehicles and department mechanical equipment.
Act as liaison with local operating centers on all vehicle issues.
Knowledge of fleet and fuel management.
Familiar with current DOT regulations.
Mechanical background with understanding of the mechanics of larger utility vehicles, dump trucks and various other industry specific equipment
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Demonstrated effective communication skills with all employees and vendors.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize.
Minimum 5 years related fleet management experience at multiple locations.
Experience in water or utility industry preferred.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Advanced education in vehicle maintenance/management preferred.
Local travel required - 50%
Monday - Friday, 7:30/8:00AM to 4:00/4:30PM
Indoor and outdoor work environment.
Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
Required - valid drivers license and good standing driving record.
