/ Supports the State Sr. Manager Business Development and the Division/Region Director of Business Development in pursuit and integration of new business opportunities, identifies promising opportunities, develops and supports all activities of the business opportunity deal cycle, directly manage and oversee the customer data, testing and integration activities, participates in due diligence interactions, supports updating the business development plan and assesses risks to commitments for securing profitable and sustainable business growth in line with the company's business plan targets and strategy./
Lead role for customer integration including all customer and operational data is accurately, efficiently and timeline integrated into appropriate systems.
Lead activities with other functional teams to support the integration of newly acquired businesses to ensure successful integration and alignment.
Identify and implement processes resolving transition challenges and develop continuous improvements.
Manage data conversion, data quality, and ensure accurate customer and premise data conversion as well as manage and ensure post close billing accuracy and efficiency.
Ensures positive new customer experience. Be the direct liaison between the State and ITS services group for all data configuration, post data load, billing blocks and dunning lock activities. (70%)
Assist in developing the business development pipeline and identifying target opportunities to maintain a steady flow of projects and plans for securing those in line with the business plan.
Assist in identify, qualify and prioritize leads through the use of appropriate tools, local market data and active targeted prospecting. (10%)
Develop, shape & track potential opportunities and match service and product offerings with customer needs.
Make personal contacts with candidates developing relationships, securing key customer data for potential acquisitions.
Recommends initial service offerings to create commercially viable solutions to meet customer needs (5%)
Assist BD Team Members in managing the end to end business development cycle for less complex service offerings, coordinates and at times manages multifunction deal teams in preparation of acquisition proposals and presentations. Assist with asset and customer data valuation studies and supports Customer Notice information data and analysis, and operational viability studies of targeted opportunities with appropriate departments. Support in creating market awareness and interest in American Water, and develop and maintain American Water brand image with the key industry stakeholders within the designated territories, interface directly or indirectly with lower level environmental regulators, attend municipal and public meetings as required, plans and staffs trade shows and industry events. (5%)
Evaluate new and emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and other relevant factors in order to assist in the identification of new business opportunities. (5%)
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft applications, SAP, SharePoint and Salesforce
Knowledge of infrastructure and customer service experience preferably within the water/waste-water utility sector
Financial and commercial acumen. Financial modeling
Legal aspects of the regulatory environment.
- Three (3) to five (5) years business development related experience and knowledge of the water and wastewater industry.
Bachelor Degree preferred (Engineering, Science, Business, Finance or Marketing preferred).
