As a Senior User Experience

Designer in our UX team, your work will be varied. Some days you'll be rubbing

elbows with our close-knit agile engineering teams, making products that users

love. Others, you'll be talking with users in an office around the corner—or on

the other side of the world. In a typical week you might deal with stakeholder

feature requests, analyze a process, design a workflow, define and create

interaction flows, wireframes, review feedback on released features, and drive

new features in web or mobile apps.

We're a close-knit,

collaborative group and we support each other in achieving our company's goals. Our

UX designers are expected to have a seat at the table with the other product

development stakeholders.

the larger design org, defining reusable patterns and extending the design

language we use across all apps.

  • You love rules and you know when to breakthem. You think systemically because you know that creating a coherentexperience requires it. But you know when the system needs to expand toaccommodate the variety of user conceptual models. And you know when to dosomething completely unique to create an arresting and product-defining momentthat makes users ooh and aah.

  • You love finding out you’re wrong. Youconsume large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to constantly refineyour assumptions.

  • You’re confident in planning and executinguser research and usability studies. You know the importance of understandinguser behaviors, needs, motivations and the impact this has on the product youdesign.

  • You exhibit a growth mindset and have a willingnessto own problems. You embrace ambiguity and always think the glass is half full.

Qualifications & previous experience

  • BA/BS degree in Design, HCI, CS or relatedfield, or equivalent practical experience, or equivalent industry specificexperience.

  • 4 years of demonstrable industryexperience in UX design or Information architecture. Experience with visual andinteraction design tools (Sketch, Adobe CS, InVision etc.).

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with storyboarding, customerjourney mapping or service design.

  • Experience with responsive or mobiledesign.

  • Experience with location positioning(geolocation, beacons), AR/VR or drones.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing.

  • Knowledge of the construction sector.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically four years of software engineering or related experience needed.
