Purpose of Job

The post holder will be a qualified QA professional responsible to assist the Quality Manager to ensure that the quality of NorthStar licensed pharmaceutical products has not been compromised prior to entering distribution. The post holder will assist the quality team to ensure all processes and procedures at NorthStar RxLLC are in compliance with cGMP, US FDA and other applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify all outsourced NS finished product received (RxPak, NRDC, Specialty and NSDC) to ensure compliance with cGMP, SOP’s, and FDA regulations. Physical verification process includes verification of quantity, label, lot number, expiry date, damages, etc.

  • Coordinate the NorthStar Product reimbursement process to include submissions to Finance for processing. Update related spreadsheet, track the complaint process and follow-up with stakeholders to resolve issues, as necessary.

  • Evaluate process improvement for CMO’s to NorhtStar, i.e. packaging protection of finished product, plastic wrap, straps, temperature control blankets, etc.

  • Support the collection and documentation of New products into the NorthStar business from contract manufacturers

  • Process non-market complaints for product receipts, including physical product damages, inconsistent shipment paperwork, incorrect quantities, packaging irregularities, etc.

  • Track quarantined NorthStar product and ensure it is logged appropriately. Physicallyverify product quantities, lot numbers, etc. Communicate with McKesson personnel, as well as NS Ireland and assist in determining final disposition of product.

  • Ensure all paperwork required for incoming materials is prepared prior to delivery of product and checked for accuracy and compliance

  • Assist in developing NorthStar Rx LLC procedures to maintain an elevated level of regulatory compliance.

  • Participate in regular team and group meetings. Be flexible within the Quality function to meet the needs of the growing business; using technical expertise, skills, knowledge and experience as required.

  • Maintain and update incoming shipments log book and related delivery spreadsheet to ensure documentation and shipment traceability

  • Update incoming spreadsheet to reflect status of incoming shipments to RxPak, NRDC, Specialty and NSDC

Minimum Requirements

2 years quality assurance experience

Critical Skills

  • 5 years Quality Management Systems experince (recalls, customer complaints, SOP)

  • 3 years Regulatory Agency experience

  • Proven analytical skills and ability to transfer findings into report and presentation formats

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and disciplined, with excellent time management skills

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience in healthcare industry

  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification


BS degree in scientific discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
