This position is intended to be a Singapore Shipping Documentation Subject Matter Expert. Shell Trading & Supply has a global portfolio of crude oil, refined products, LNG, chemicals natural gas, electrical power and CO2. The successful candidate will be part of an Operations Support Team ("OST") within the Shell Trading and Supply Global Contracts Team. The OST will provide administrative support primarily for Trading and Supply Operations. This includes tasks like checking details in bills of lading and bunker delivery notes against system of record, physical endorsements of bills of lading, records management relating to bills of lading and bunker delivery notes, and associated work related to such shipping and other documentation. The scope of the team changes as business needs change.
Process documentation including Bills of Lading and Certificates of Origin.
Provide proactive solutions to trading desks for documentation issues.
Serve as shipping documentation Subject Matter Expert.
Participate in assigned Continuous Improvement projects, building knowledge and experience of methodology and tools.
Routinely examine existing and new procedures. Seek process improvements and efficiency.
Support ad-hoc projects assigned by Team Leader.
Serve as Permits subject matter expert which includes troubleshooting problems, monitoring activities to ensure quality of service and serving as the onsite focal in Singapore for escalation of issues.
Work closely with interdependent groups such as Commercial Operations and Singapore and Chennai Finance and GOCS departments.
Develop relationships and ways of working with these teams and ensure that processes are working effectively and efficiently.
Work directly with the Letter of Credit Team to complete Documentary Letters of Credit as needed.
Assist with audits when required.
Provide cover for the other OST members when required.
Provide cover for environmental products work of Contracts Support Analyst when required.
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to share learnings.
Participate in training and coaching of OST colleagues in other locations as needed.
The successful candidate will work with another Document Analyst and Permit/Document Analyst as part of an Operations Support Team ("OST") within the Shell Trading and Supply Global Contracts Team. There is also additional opportunity to interface with the wider Trading & Supply organization through providing cover support to the environmental products work of the focal Contracts Support Analyst. Customers include companies within the Shell Trading and Supply network. The work is carried out using a wide range of Trading and Supply IT Systems such as FED, DEX, Aligne and MCC.

Experience and Qualifications Required:
Expert level knowledge of Singapore shipping documentation is required/preferred.
University degree and/or equivalent work experience is required.
Evidenced ability to cover multiple roles, including roles on other desks and taking on additional projects
Evidenced ability to understand end to end processes and the impacts of those processes on the book of record.
Evidenced ability to handle a high volume of transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
Must be able to deal with competing priorities and be able to maximize value in a fast paced environment
Evidence of an orientation towards learning and application of that learning to problem solving.
Working knowledge of CI tools will be highly valuable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
