As a Senior Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience preferred.

Department Description

The Oracle Solution Management and Strategy group within the Food & Beverage (F&B) Global Business Unit is comprised of both industry experts with strong F&B solution knowledge and experienced individuals with a track record of delivering world class platform based SaaS solutions . The main goals of this team are to capture market and product requirements, define the strategic business plans and investment agenda, feed the development backlog and build targeted market offers. The group is measured by plan attainment, growth in market share, and customer success.

Position Description

This opening is for the Sr. Director Food & Beverage Solutions Management. The candidate leads a small, high-calibre team to define and deliver upon the vision for the Simphony Food & Beverage global transaction platform. The team will work on market analysis and business cases for the proposed investments and solicit feedback from the field (sales, consulting and customers) in order to optimise revenue generation and market share growth for the suite. The candidate will be responsible for driving the team to success for both analysing the market requirements, converting into development backlog and driving the go to market strategies surrounding the platform functionality.

Successful Distribution Leaders have a strong background in distribution operations (Hotel, Airline, Cruise or other related) and expertise in the hotel and/or retail software market. They are good at building relationships and understanding the greater organisation including the Development team. As leaders within the organization, they are evangelists for distribution both externally and internally.

The Sr. Director Food & Beverage Solutions Management will drive across their team:

  • Vision work with the VP Strategy to shape the roadmap for the solution set

  • Market Requirements create market requirement documents for solution enhancements

  • Business Case Support provide quantitative business justification for the proposed enhancements

  • TCO, Partner & Implementation Approach document/analyze current solution TCO, develop partner relationships, and work to optimize the implementation of the solutions

  • Customer Advisory Board (CAB) support the CAB with content throughout the year

  • Customer success - participate in strategic customer discussions and issue resolution

  • Thought Leadership internal and external communication related to key industry trends and how they may be relevant to the Merchandising solutions

In addition to the above activities, the candidate will assist in strategic sales cycles and customer strategy sessions as necessary. They collaborate very closely with the VP Strategy, give feedback on solution messaging and offers to the Marketing Team while providing guidance to the product managers in his team on solution / product requirements. The role reports directly to the VP Strategy within the FBGBU.

Job Requirements

First-hand, detailed knowledge of driving the requirements process for a SaaS platform solution. Ideally the candidate will be familiar with the Oracle F&B product suite (or competitive vendor equivalent solutions). The candidate should have consultative selling or business consulting experience as well as excellent presentation, communication and influencing skills. They must possess strong financial analytical skills and business acumen. The ability to travel domestically as well as sometimes internationally is required. BA/BS required, MBA an advantage.

Qualifications
