What will you do?

  • Works with senior level Scientists to establish and validate scale-up process and procedures for new products.

  • Conducts research experiments to develop new products or to improve existing products.

  • Uses statistical methods to design experiments and to analyze data.

  • Facilitates transfer product technology from internal and/or external laboratories to manufacturing.

  • Establishes and validates scale-up process procedures for new products.

  • Schedules testing to meet departmental commitments.

  • Prepares test samples, conducts laboratory tests and evaluates product performance in accordance with written procedures.

  • Evaluates analytical test results and determines conformance to draft specifications and/or finished product specifications.

  • Analyzes data and prepares technical summaries and supporting reports, as appropriate.

  • Maintains instruments/equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ labeling and in-house audit and calibrations procedures.

  • Troubleshoots test procedures and/or instruments when problems arise and determines appropriate course(s) of action.

  • Maintains all required records/logs in accordance with procedures and GMP; maintains working laboratory inventory as appropriate.

  • Performs other laboratory functions as deemed necessary to support project.

  • Provides training to other PDPS, Operations, and QC staff staff on an as needed basis.

  • Participates in PPI, Kaizan, PPV and other initiates whose focus is to optimize processes, to increase revenues and to reduce waste.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

How will you get here?


  • BS or MS Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Medical Technology Certification


  • Requires 1-5+ years experience in manufacturing, laboratory, diagnostic or related industry (with Undergraduate/Graduate Degree), or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or licensure/certification (5-10+ years of relevant experience with a license/certification in lieu of Degree)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must have experience with at least one or more high throughput automated analyzer(s).

  • Must be familiar with laboratory instruments and possess strong troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Must be proficient in the application and use of analytical test methods.

  • Must be able to organize data for presentations and to prepare and/or deliver reports when required.

  • Must possess knowledge of GMP, GLP, and ISO requirements.

  • Must be familiar with network and Microsoft Office computer applications: Word & Excel.

  • Must be flexible, well organized, and able to handle multiple tasks with multiple priorities.

  • Must be flexible and able to work overtime or during staggered shifts other than normal working hours in order to support specific projects.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal laboratory environment.

  • Handles blood products and other biological and chemical hazards.

  • Position may require frequent communication and walking to other areas in which designated PPE will be required.

  • Position will require sitting and standing.

  • Employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
