Job Summary

SCOPE: The Construction Engineering job family is responsible for managing the construction engineering

functions on a project to ensure adherence to all engineering construction plans and specifications. Works as an integral part of the site construction team at the project as delineated by the applicable company PEPs and the PXP.


Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:

  • Assist GM Project Manager to manage the project in accordance with GM Project Management Process (PMP)

  • Coordinate all CPS personnel on site

  • Interface with stakeholders at the site (contractors, ME, Production, etc.)

  • Answer Technical questions

  • Monitor As-built drawing documentation

  • Assist Contract Manager to manage all contract documents

  • Files & tracks all bid package documentation.

  • Maintains master drawing lists.

  • Assists in change order preparation

  • Maintains DCR and change order Logs

  • Copies & distributes drawings, specifications, contracts

  • Develop and maintain Project integrated schedule.


  • Coordinate all CPS personnel on site

  • Prepare Master Dot & other scheduling reports

Prepare and maintain Integrated Construction Schedule (ISC)

  • Attend Contractor & UAW Scheduling meetings to update the schedules

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or demonstrated

combination of education/training and experience.

Experience: Entry-level position.

Level Specific Responsibilities: Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring

knowledge of basic engineering principles. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of

work. Performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments. Spends large percentage of

time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk- downs for quantity tracking purposes,

reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to
