This is an exciting opportunity in Milton Keynes for a Battery Systems Customer Engineering Leader.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • You will lead large and complex Customer Engineering projects within our exciting and ever-growing Electrified Powertrain Business Unit.

  • Working directly with customers both pre and post-sale, you will offer technical guidance and consultancy on the integration of Cummins Electrified Powertrain components and systems into their vehicle development plan.

  • You will provide technical vehicle support documentation e.g. installation support – both mechanical and electrical.

  • You will support customer prospecting activities by providing technical input to bid and sales documentation and customer requirements analysis.

  • Crucially, you will act as the technical voice of customer to battery development teams – introducing customer requirements and product feedback into the ongoing product development cycle.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • You will have experience of leading vehicle integration activities for at least one full lifecycle powertrain product development project.

  • You will be able to demonstrate strong customer-management skills: requirements gathering and analysis, narrowing wide specifications into a coherent product development plan, and providing consultancy on cost, timescale and feasibility.

  • Experience of Automotive productengineering and vehicle testing isessential – ideally from within a Chassis or Powertrain context.

  • Ideally, but not essentially, you will have experience of Battery Electric Vehicle Development and / or Lithium-Ion energy storage technologies.

  • Experience of using an industry-standard CAD package is desirable (e.g. Creo, Catia, Solidworks).

  • Experience withnew product developmentand rapid prototyping / rapid product development is a plus.

  • Fluent English is required, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of different audiences, both verbally and through written media.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • OR equivalent vocational experience in a related field

Compensation and Benefits

  • A basic salary of £54-66,000, dependent on experience
