IBM 3rd Party Event Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

As a Manager, CHQ Global Events, you will be responsible for evaluating the performance of all IBM events, making recommendations for improvement and changes in company strategy while simultaneously driving the strategy and execution of a strategic third party event portfolio.

The position requires superior organization, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as being able to manage resources and budgets effectively and creatively.

The ideal candidate must be an experienced event marketing professional with strong hands-on experience planning and executing events and programs of all sizes, an understanding of IBM management and reporting systems, and an understanding of geography and business unit campaign execution.

Event manager is part of the strategy and 3rd party event team. This role will be focused on building the strategy for key xIBM events, pulling the extended team together working closely with GPJ to execute an onsite and offsite plan that ensures we hit all key outlined KPIs.

This role is located in IBM offices in Austin, TX, Boston, MA, or New York City.

Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of 3rd party event management strategy development and execution

  • Completed a project management certification or equivalent proven experience

  • 3+ years with event related relationship and proven execution with agency partners

  • 2+ years experience in a global 3rd party strategy role
