The Wealth and Investment (WIM) Risk Data, Analytics, & Decision Science team is seeking an analytical leader/manager to join our team as an Analytics Manager 4, reporting to the leader of WIM Risk Analytics. This leader will lead a team of data and analytic professionals in developing innovative analyses and actionable insights to proactively identify and monitor risks. This professional will be a key leader in evolving the use of advanced analytics within WIM Risk. The focus for this position will be Investment Risk and strategic projects (regulatory, legal, etc.), but may extend to Operational Risk and Financial Crimes.

The successful candidate must be an exceptional leader and will be recognized for accomplishments related to implementing robust data and analytical solutions. He/She will have proven track records of developing actionable data and quantitative analytics to inform, influence, and drive business outcomes. Both leadership and analytical/technical capabilities will be determining factors in selection. The successful candidate will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability. He/She must have strong understanding of business drivers and processes and be an effective influencer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of analysts including responsibility for attracting, developing, motivating, and retaining talent.

  • Partnering/ collaborating across WIM business, Risk first and second line of defense risk teams as well as with Corporate Risk.

  • Building strong relationships with business leaders through proactive communication, taking time to understand business needs while providing a consultative, analytical and punctual approach to problem solving.

  • Creating end-to-end analyses (data or statistical) from data extraction to end-state manifestations, whether in a business intelligence solution or PowerPoint presentation.

  • Utilizing a strong technical, analytical skillset (SQL, SAS/R/Python, Tableau, Linux/Unix, etc.) to navigate multiple data sources in order to extract the data necessary to perform complex analyses.

  • Developing and delivering executive level presentations; turning data and analytics into actionable insights that can be easily understood by business partners.

  • Leading complex legal and regulatory analyses including proficiency in statistical methods

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.**

Preferred locations include Charlotte, Minneapolis, St. Louis, San Diego, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Des Moines. May consider other locations across the WF footprint.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

  • 4+ years of management experience

  • 5+ years of SAS programming experience

  • 3+ years of Linux experience

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative discipline

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of emerging data platforms and analytic tools Hadoop, Aster, and R-

  • Knowledge and understanding of statistical analysis

  • 3+ years of Tableau experience

  • 8+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
