IBM Data Security Senior Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) Consultant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description

The Data Security Senior Database Activity Monitoring (“DAM”) role will be responsible for driving the full life cycle and delivery of projects involving Database Activity Monitoring technologies (e.g. IBM Guardium and competing products) and developing programs for IBM clients throughout North America. The candidate must have a desire to have impact within IBM in terms of growing and developing junior staff and drive a high standard of quality in maturing our DAM offerings and delivering to clients. The candidate should be knowledgeable about how DAM fits into the broader Security Program and generally understand Data Security concepts around data loss prevention (DLP), tokenization and encryption, database activity monitoring, Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) and be able to convey security offering capabilities during pursuits.

Candidate should have demonstrated experience and expertise delivering and leading teams of consultants on DAM projects; participating in scoping and capturing of pursuits; developing marketing materials highlighting service offerings; managing budgets; and have hands on technical implementation experience. Should have experience working across diverse teams to facilitate solutions, and experience working with Security practitioners.

Marketing and Sales:

  • Present Database Activity Monitoring / Data Security offerings and points of view to clients in sales calls and present at conferences.

  • Work with clients to define requirements and subsequently design solutions to meet client needs.

  • Lead efforts to develop solutions and proposals for potential DAM deals and capture a minimum of $2M sales.

  • Provide demonstration of IBM credentials in the Database Activity Monitoring domain.

  • Help establish demonstrated client relationships in key accounts to help progress the Data Security Services portfolio and cross-sell into other security competencies.

Delivery:

  • Will have experience in developing strategic plans, implementing Database Activity Monitoring technologies, and establishing steady-state programs.

  • Experience integrating leading DAM products with leading SIEM technology such as QRadar.

  • Experience leading projects between $250k-$2M with teams of 3-10 staff.

  • Experience with Database Activity Monitoring (IBM Guardium and Imperva), Data Encryption, and Masking and establishing operating models for newly acquired technology.

  • Will have the ability to architect solutions for customers, create work breakdown structures for assessment, implementation, and managed services projects.

  • Candidates must have demonstrated experience in client communications - written/verbal, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must also have proven organizational/multi-tasking skills.

Practice:

  • Contribute content and advice to the offering development process.

  • Help shape the emerging model of the Data Security practice.

  • Drive the successful execution of solution design and proposal development to enable North America sales teams while managing IBM risk.

  • Present to clients solutions design approaches and proposals.

Willingness to travel 50-75%, depending on location and various client requirements. Must be located in a major US city and near a major airport.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 10 years of experience working with consulting and systems integration methods

  • At least 5 years of experience working in projects related to data security

  • At least 5 years of experience managing large-scale technology deployment projects

  • At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing Guardium and/or Imperva Database Activity Monitoring

  • Basic knowledge in security industry regulations/standards (Payment Card Industry (PCI DSS), HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)) and compliance frameworks (ISO 27002,NIST, and Cobit)

  • Willingness to travel 50-75%, depending on client requirements. Must be located in a major US city and near a major airport.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • At least 5 years of management consulting experience

  • At least 5 years of implementation experience with leading Data Loss Prevention technology such as Symantec, Forcepoint, Digital Guardian, Intel/McAfee

  • At least 3 years of implementation experience with encryption such as Voltage, Vormetric, SecureCircle

  • Basic knowledge in and experience in database security (Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, DB2)

  • Certified in CISSP or equivalent certification

  • MBA or Masters Degree in a related field
