Job Description

Part of the Enterprise Finance & Information Technology Group, the Recovery and Resolution Planning Office (RRPO) leads recovery and resolution planning at Wells Fargo. The Recovery and Resolution Planning Office develops and maintains Wells Fargo’s plan strategies, ensures the company maintains the necessary capabilities to execute its strategies and provide flexibility to regulators in the event of a recovery or resolution event, prepares required plan documentation and associated financial information, and ensures the company operates within a well-defined governance framework. The Recovery and Resolution Planning Office relies upon close partnerships with an extensive network of senior leaders across the company, who maintain responsibility for execution of recovery and resolution planning requirements. These requirements impact a wide range of company activities, including finance, legal, treasury, operations, risk management, and strategic planning.

The Team

The Recovery & Resolution Planning Office is looking for a highly motivated Strategy Consultant (Recovery & Resolution Planning) to join its Plan Execution and Production Team. The primary focus of this role is to help coordinate Wells Fargo’s recovery and resolution plans, a process that requires interaction with corporate development, treasury, financial planning & analysis as well as other groups across the bank. This individual will also interact with various regulatory agencies, as well as help to interpret regulatory guidance and requests, and to assist in providing guidance to the broader working team. .

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working collaboratively across multiple stakeholders, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and have experience managing large scale financial processes. Additional experience should include experience working on regulatory submissions, as well as an understanding of financial forecasting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the company’s operations, business practices and regulatory objectives and an understanding of key target audiences including regulators and internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain an awareness of regulatory guidelines and oversight policies that may impact content and tone of written communications

  • Support mapping assessment to guidance, plan outline development, recovery option support from creation to template development, narrative content creation and validation, and point of contact and leadership communications

  • Establish internal calendars, project plans, create and facilitate meetings, and program management routines are achieved

  • Examine existing processes and communications for consistency, accuracy and effectiveness, and recommend enhancements.

  • Partner with LOBs and support functions within the enterprise to improve efficiency by harmonizing similar efforts within the organization

  • Internal governance support and oversight with in the RRPO including regular meetings, recovery policy, and high level recovery plan(s) procedures and alignment with other various agency plans

  • Correspondence Independent Risk Management and Wells Fargo Audit Services

  • Support training for senior management and board members regarding responsibilities and actions during times of financial stress

  • Draft and revise narrative content and supporting documentation in the company’s recovery and resolution plans

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of strategic planning experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into executive level communications

  • Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats with senior executive-level leaders

  • Experience working with executives, senior managers and subject matter experts across Wells Fargo

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business, management, accounting, finance or economics
