As a member of the ECS product team, our newest Technical Systems Architect will act as a technical overlay to the sales teams providing consultative pre-sales services to our VAR Customers and OEM partners. The Technical Solutions Architect plays a key role in developing and delivering hands on labs, training, and consultations while acting as an extension of Arrow ECS and the OEM's. (Big Data, Security, Cloud, etc.) This is a field position that will cover Arrow's customer base in the Toronto marketand will be part of an exciting new growth development and partnership for Arrow Electronics and our strategic partners.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience working in a technical design/support role in one or more the following areas: Big Data, Security, and/or Cloud

  • Hands on production level work within Big Data: Splunk, Spark, Hadoop, etc. (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud services and Office 365

  • Working knowledge of Network or Cyber Security including but not limited to: Palo Alto, Carbon Black, etc.

  • Experience solving complex technical problems and making recommendations on new and existing solutions

  • Background and history of working in a customer facing/consulting role or shows aptitude and ability to showcase proof of concepts and demos in a live customer setting

  • Efficient customer service and communication skills

  • Proven history of working independently; receives minimal guidance

Principal Accountability

  • Responsible for working with sales reps, business partners and end users to create systems configurations based on customer requirements. Consult with business partners and VAR Customers to derive solutions.

  • Creates systems configurations based on customer requirements, offers product recommendations and runs alternative configurations that may present a better solution to the customer.

  • Responsible for working with sales reps, business partners and end users to resolve design configuration issues and run revisions. Trains sales reps and partner engineers on configuration tools and how to use them, as well as provides pre-sales solutions training.

  • Keeps up to date with new products that are introduced and maintains certifications.

  • Prepares technical presentations and vendor trainings to partners on products and solutions and provides demonstrations to show how a product meets client needs.

  • Educate partners, inside sales, and other technicians on products and solutions.

Experience / Education

  • Typically requires 5–7 years of related experience with a 4 year degree; or 3 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent work experience.

  • Certifications in one or more of the following preferred: Network or Cyber Security, MS Azure/Cloud, and/or Big Data.
