We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Operations Supervisor with our Mobile Silicate Plant located in Mobile, AL.

Essential Job Duties:

Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.

Ensure consistency of operation, application of policies/procedures, and accountability across all shifts for employees working in the assigned department.

Develop new & enhance existing management systems and procedures to quantify and compare operating performance with established standards and assures compliance with such standards

Provide direction to the operators on key parameters, plant operating instructions, preparation of equipment for maintenance, process troubleshooting, operating plans, and safety issues.

Responsible for the day-to-day operations in the facility.

Accountable for the safety & environmental performance, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost management.

Responsible for driving costs within established budgets.

Lead and support the policies and objectives of the plant management team.

Coordinate with the project engineer to ensure proper equipment is prepared for maintenance activities.

Actively manage all training activities to increase the fundamental knowledge of the plant’s operations for all hourly employees.

Ensure adequate resources are available to operate within established guidelines to ensure an efficient plant operation.

Provide effective leadership to accomplish short and long-term goals and maintain documented records of employees’ performance.

Develop, estimate, and implement minor capital projects within the plant approved budget.


BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering with minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience including experience in a leadership role, with strong preference given to chemical manufacturing experience.

Supervisory experience strongly desired

Strong understanding of Key Procedures, HESSP philosophy, and environmental requirements for the plant operations.

High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and good working knowledge of SAP.

Ability to read, write and speak in English.

Strong arithmetic and general mathematic concepts including unit of measure

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to work weekends, holidays and routinely respond to callouts.

Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
