Our Oracle Retail Xstore team as an opening for a Functional Implementation Consultant to join our US based Software Implementation Practice. Responsibilities include leading external and internal meetings to demonstrate the software functionality of the retail software suite along with conducting discovery sessions for functional requirement gathering, and assisting to guide users for proper system configuration. This role also involves making XML configurations and database alters to ensure the system functions as expected.
This role is highly customer facing in both an onsite and remote environment with external customers. This role is responsible for providing software functionality guidance as the subject matter expert and implementing application solutions that accomplish the customer’s requirements. This role is also responsible for providing customer focused user training of the Oracle Retail Xstore product suite.

Primary Duties Include
Leading Discovery and Business impact meetings with external customers to gather system requirements and demonstrate the functionality of the Retail software suite to medium to large audiences.
Provide subject matter expertise consulting to customers to give them proper guidance on the best use of the Xstore system.
Completing system configurations to accomplish required functionality of the systems in both XML changes and database scripting
Provide product functional training for small to large groups of users
Create/maintain configuration documentation as well as writing/maintaining functional requirement documentation for software modifications.
Analyzing customer needs, including participating in strategic planning and ensuring solutions adopted are appropriate to meet such needs.
At least 5 years of client / customer facing consulting experience
Some experience with XML file manipulation
At least 5 years of experience working independently and creatively on problem resolution of complex technical problems
SQL skills: At least 5 years of experience writing both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle queries
Basic knowledge of Retail environments
Basic knowledge in Java programming
Basic knowledge and experience in working with source code repository environments
Basic knowledge navigating within both Linux and Windows Operating systems
Ability to work in an Agile environment, addressing bugs with QA, planning schema changes with engineering, and responding quickly to other business needs.
Ability to travel up to 70% of the time / can live anywhere in the US and will work remotely from home when not needing to be on the client site.
Strong communication skills. Able to articulate complicated information in a simplified manner.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Participates in business development activities. Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.
6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
