Retail Xstore team is looking for a Technical Software Implementation
Consultant to join our US based Software Implementation Practice. Responsibilities
include leading external and internal meetings to provide technical guidance
and overview of the expected system architecture of the Retail suite along with
conducting discovery sessions for requirement gathering.
This role is
highly customer facing in both an onsite and remote environment. This role is
responsible for providing technical guidance as a product subject matter expert
and for implementing solutions that address each unique customer’s requirements.
This role is also responsible for providing technical troubleshooting of the Oracle
Retail product suite.

Primary Duties Include
Developdeployment processes for the point of sale software into production systems forthe external customer’s rollout to their chain with a wide array of tools toaccomplish the task.
Developsoftware update packages for making updates to external customer’s productionsystems.
Providessubject matter expert consultation to the external customer at the technicallevel, for how to use the product in their particular environment to achievethe results the customer is requiring.
Provide consultation on hardware sizingspecifications for their environment.
Installsand/or provides consultation on installing the products for both the corporateand register levels.
Theposition will also entail extensive customer interaction both on and offsite, which will require excellent communication and organizationalskills.
Providesconsultation to the internal customers, project managers and quality assuranceanalysts, on how to achieve a customer request with the product.
Provideconsultation to the internal development teams to determine the cause of aproblem occurring in the customized software.
Providesproduct support training to external and internal customers, which includesdeveloping agendas and training materials.
Travelsfrequently, up to 50%, to be onsite with customers for consultation on theproduct.
Worksnon-standard hours to accommodate business needs to touch production systemsduring non-business hours.
Providesafter hours level support for production critical problems to both corporateapplications and store level systems.
Providesexternal customer lab support for initial setup and ongoing lab issues for boththe corporate server level and register level systems.
Providesinternal customer support for technical issues and lab system setup/support.
Developperipheral integration into the point of sale systems for deployment.
Developcustomer specific documentation for installation and updates to both thecorporate and register level systems.
Provideconsultation for payment card industry and security compliance questions.
Proven experience working in a hightouch client facing / consulting role
Provenexperience working independently and creatively to solve complex technicalproblems
Provenexperience writing both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle queries
Provenexperience working within bothLinux and Windows Operating systems
Experiencewriting installs with installer applications such as Wise Solution or
Excellent working knowledge ofwriting and reading complex DOS batch files
Excellent working knowledge ofnetworking technologies and TCP/IP
Extensiveknowledge of Retail environments
Basicknowledge in Java programming or other 4 th generationprogramming languages
Ability to work in an Agileenvironment, addressing bugs with QA, planning schema changes with engineering,and responding quickly to other business needs.
Ability to travel up to 50% of thetime
Strong communication skills. Able toarticulate complicated information in a simplified and professional manner.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent workhistory

An experienced consulting professional who has an understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.

5-7 years of experience relevant to this position including 2 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
