Eaton Corporation Lead Electronics Hardware Engineer in Moon Township, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Specialist Electronics Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Moon Township, PA.

Position Overview:

The Lead Electronics Hardware Engineer is responsible for new product development of Meters, Relays and Communication products. The Lead Hardware Engineer will spearhead hardware engineering projects from the initial customer proposal through the production launch for the commercial and industrial markets.

In this function you will:

  • Hardware Design

  • Lead the system electronics development of the Energy and Power Quality Metering and Power Distribution Communication Products and architect and design products with multi-processors and processors with multi-cores

  • Perform schematic capture, PCB design, design reviews, prototyping bring-up and debugging, hardware bug tracking, test plan creation, test plan execution, functional verification, signal characterization and manufacturing support.

  • Proficient with oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency generators, soldering irons and other off-the-shelf equipment.

  • Perform EMI/EMC Testing and Design products to meet UL safety requirements and working with UL for certification

  • Project Management

  • Ability to contribute technically while managing the tasks and providing direction for a team and work with electronic suppliers and development partners in the management of outside design & manufacturing activities.

  • Work with and provide direction and mentoring team members while handling multiple projects and priorities, with the ability to switch focus as priorities change.

  • Work with marketing, project manager and other team members to develop specifications for product or process systems from customer requirements.

  • Work with team, suppliers and others to establish task estimations, project schedules and budgets. Establish and review plans for multiple activities/projects; monitor and take corrective action as schedule impacts occur.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in electrical product design.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Moon Township, PA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Sponsorship is not provided. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US on an ongoing basis without requiring future company sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Experience leading a cross-functional, global development team.

  • Project management experience with Atlassian applications (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo)

  • 15+ years work experience in electrical product design
