Current Need

Position Description

Responsible for one or more of the following activities: first/third party billing utilizing the patient financial information system, adjudicating claims, follow-up reviews, processing/tracking of submissions, remittances and rejections, inpatient/outpatient registration, cashiering, credit and collections, charge master maintenance, follow-up with insurance companies and patients to ensure that all patient accounts are paid in a timely fashion. Also responsible for performing a wide variety of duties to provide for the efficient and effective management of accounts receivable.

Minimum Requirements

1 year experience in medical collections

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Web portal experience, and Clearinghouse

Critical Skills

  • Prior healthcare background

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of insurance company practices regarding reimbursement

  • Ability to type 35 wpm

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of CPT and ICD codes

  • College degree preferred

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

Professional office environment – this position requires availability Monday – Friday between 8:30am – 5:00pm with additional availability for Saturday/evening hours to accommodate business needs
