Verizon Distribution Strategy Manager - Financial Modeling in Morristown, New Jersey

What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Retail Distribution Strategy team is responsible for synthesizing the business unit’s overarching sales, marketing, and customer experience strategies into a plan of action for Verizon’s physical retail distribution channels (corporate owned, agents, and National Retailers). In addition, a new Distribution Strategy Execution Team is being stood up to prioritize, manage, and support the 2019-2021 Sales Distribution effort.

The major strategic goals and trade-offs that will shape the 2019-2021 deliverables for Sales Distribution have been consolidated into 7 Pillars of work to be led by different VPs throughout the organization. From these pillars, 4 separate Workstreams have been identified and need to be cared for.

As the Manager, Distribution Strategy: Financial Modeling, you will be responsible for ensuring consistency in financial modeling and reporting across all Pillars and Workstreams. You will coordinate with all teams (VPs, PMs, etc.) to capture and address unanticipated financial risks and mitigate potential revenue loss. Specifically, you will:● Act as single point of contact for managing cross-Pillar economic models● Develop business cases for the different Workstreams, Pillars, and projects● Size the economic cost of risks● Interface with the ZBB program office, budget plan, capital counsel, etc.

What we’re looking for...

You have a strong focus on strategy, operational processes, and customer experience, and a background in finance - particularly financial modeling and investment analysis. This role requires a team player who is able to handle several high-profile projects in parallel and follow through on expectations with minimal supervision. You need to be self-motivated, proactive in anticipating needs, and think beyond the guidelines provided in the role. You are comfortable working up and across the organization with senior staff members and front line employees. Accuracy and adherence to deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential.Given the scope of our charter, complexity of the initiatives and the high levels of visibility, you must be extremely thoughtful, well organized, and an excellent communicator.

You'll need to have:

● BA/BS degree● 6+ years of relevant experience

Even better if you have:● Master’s degree in a relevant field● Experience with VZ financial systems of record (e.g., essbase) strongly preferred● Experience managing concurrent projects in a fast-based, results-drivenenvironment with equal enthusiasm for high-level strategic planning and tactical daily execution● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills● Proven track record of effectively managing and building consensus across multiple teams/stakeholders● Experience workingin a time-sensitive and ever-changing business environment and to work independently with minimal supervision● Proficiency with M.S. Office tools and Google Suite, and an ability to present strategies and data in a compelling and effective manner
