About the role

Our Mt Isa branch is a high performing operation with a mix of mining, on-highway and mining. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership of the workshop service technicians and directly managing the apprentices in our Automotive Section whilst ensuring the team remain highly productive, engaged and motivated. As a hands-on leader, you will spend most of your time on the shop floor, providing practical mentoring to both apprentices and technicians. You will also be liase with the customer to complete warranty claims and quotes. Also working with the technicians to complete HSE audits and share safety alerts with the technicians.

About you

• Have previous supervisory / management experience

• Have a strong technical background and ability to share your knowledge easily, mentoring and developing our apprentices

• Ideally have had some Cummins engine experience

• Knowledge in the use of electronic diagnostic tools

• Computer literacy and knowledge

• Be motivated towards developing a strong, results focused team

• Have worked in an environment where a code of conduct is embedded

• Put safety first, every task every day

• A current, valid driver’s license (HR preferable)

• Mt Isa-based or willing to relocate
