JOB SUMMARY

The Consulting Data Scientist will develop predictive and prescriptive analytics models to solve unique and complex business problems. The Data Scientist will leverage their expertise in design, development and implementation of data science efforts for large-scale use cases in the healthcare domain. The ideal candidate has a background in machine learning, demonstrated experience working with structured and unstructured data sets, and a track record of building and deploying data-driven solutions.

The Data Scientist will collaborate with highly talented technologists and business partners to leverage analytics and large data sets to deliver significant business impact. The Data Scientist will lead efforts to evaluate, design, and implement statistical analyses and data exploration/visualization of internal and external data. The role is business facing and requires clear communication of the context and results of highly technical information to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides data science expertise and recommend data science approaches to meet business needs

  • Leads all phases of the data science life cycle, from discovery through production enablement

  • Analyzes complex business problems and executes on use cases for existing data assets

  • Identifies trends and relationships in the data used for creating and testing hypotheses

  • Formulates innovative solutions to business problems using data science patterns and machine learning

  • Communicates the logic of a complex model to numerous audiences, including senior executives

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and analyze complex business problems

  • Extensive experience in designing and deploying data applications

  • Extensive expertise/experience in data analysis, modeling and visualization required

  • Experience with big data technologies like HDFS, Spark, Impala, Hive, HBase, Solr

  • Mastery of one or more development languages (e. g., Java, Python, R, Scala)

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Passion for Data Science and Machine Learning

  • Broad experience in data and analytics: R, probability theory, linear and logistic regression, SVM, RBM, bagging, boosting, random forests, NLP, time series analysis, data science lifecycle, and model fitting cycle.

  • Experience with NLP

  • Healthcare experience, preferable

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 7 years

  • Preferred experience: Healthcare experience

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

  • Master’s Degree preferred
