The Senior Clinical Data Integration Engineer position reports directly to the Clinical Data Systems Delivery Manager at HealthTrust. The employee will demonstrate a solid understanding of enterprise data warehousing, data integration technology, data and process modeling, secure programming principles, test-driven development or another unit testing methodology, and advanced coding practices.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work independently and collaboratively to build, test and deploy technical solutions across all layers of the Clinical Data stack

  • Develop ETL/ELT for HealthTrust’s clinical data applications

  • Performance tune and troubleshoot ETL/ELT jobs and processes

  • I mplement fault-tolerant, high-performance, and multi-parallel algorithms for data processing, and for delivering data streams to drive a wide range of reportss

  • Ensure proper implementation of architectural guidance while expanding the usefulness of the data applications and database platforms

  • Collaborate with various users to understand requirements for data capture and processing and dimensional modeling

  • Collaborate with business analysts, project leads, management and customers to develop, refine, scope and plan business requirements in alignment with strategic focus of the enterprise

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver features

  • Participate in large-scale development projects involving multiple areas outside of core team

  • Provide accurate and thorough estimates, impact analysis, design, and unit testing to ensure smooth delivery of product features with attention to detail, dependencies and reduction in defects

  • Integrate new/existing software with existing systems

  • Provide rigorous cross-team, operational support within service delivery guidelines

  • Monitor production loads and oversee root cause analysis for all load failures

  • Monitor unit testing of products and review technical documentation

  • Develop software implementation documentation and troubleshooting guides

  • Participate in technology option discussions and decisions for tool selection and product development

  • Participate in lean agile software development practices

  • Understand and comply with defined SDLC processes and coding standards

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement of technical and operational activities


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree required with the preferred fields in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics. Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

5 years of relevant working experience preferably in the Healthcare IT industry

  • Clinical Data Experience required

  • Experience with SSIS required

  • Teradata/Oracle experience required

  • ETL/ELT experience required
