Provides support to the Utilization Management team through phone, mail and fax functions. Initiates the prior authorization process using Aetna systems.
Receives data from various venues, fax, phone, web portal, and enters this data into an appropriate Aetna system.
Processes authorization and denial letters and prepares letters for the mail system.
Manages phone queue with inbound and outbound calls.
2-4 years experience as a medical assistant, office assistant or other clinical experience.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
