The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Develops/designs solutions for a variety of technical problems of minor to moderate scope and complexity across the mechanical, plumbing/fire protection engineering discipline
Develops specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes
Begins to establish system application, design and operational parameters / sequences independently
Participates in QA/QC process
Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports
Mentor and guide younger engineers and designers in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
2+ years of experience in consulting engineering
Good written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of engineering production software including AutoCAD, MS Office, etc
Ability to perform HVAC load calculations, size and select Mechanical equipment, layout duct and distribution systems
Familiarity with New York State / New York City building codes
Familiarity with NFPA standards
Proficiency in Revit MEP
Sustainability, resiliency and/or climate adaptation experience
Experience with New York City Agency (NYCHA, NYPA, DDC, EDC, MTA, SCA etc.) projects
Ability to perform hydraulic calculations, size and select fire protection equipment, layout sprinkler and standpipe systems
