The Clinical Services Leader, Senior Employee Health & Benefits (EH&B) Consultant will (1) lead the Clinical Services team and business strategy, (2) produce and deliver clinical services as part of Total Health Management (THM), (3) serve as a recognized THM expert to support general EH&B consulting staff, and (4) lead THM business development efforts. Level of support provided depends on size of client as well as complexity and revenue of the account - at this level the Senior Consultant will be the client lead. To fulfill this role, the Senior Consultant will:
THM Clinical Services Leader
Develop a business strategy that will grow clinical services revenue and profitability through clinical products and consulting solutions Lead a team of 10-15 clinicians (MDs and RNs) in their career development and manage strategic staffing of clinicians Create a clinical community that creates a high performing Clinical Services team – e.g., information sharing, training around point of views, and creating and disseminating key resources Establish effective carrier/vendor relationships to serve Mercer and clients regarding clinical solutions Produce and deliver clinical services as part of Total Health Management (THM)
Serve as a THM consultant as a member of the national clinical team Actively lead and contribute to key client clinical initiatives Effectively communicate Mercer's position on latest industry trends to clients Be accountable for revenue/profitability for client accounts and projects Contribute to the growth of clinical products and consulting solutions, including:
Initiating continuous improvement of Mercer's approach to clinical assessments and care management consulting services Supporting the Mercer Health Advantage initiative Participating in Quality Improvement Collaborative initiative Serve as a recognized THM expert to support general EH&B consulting staff by actively contributing to the client team as the most senior clinician providing advice and strategic direction Lead THM business development efforts
Contributing as a clinical subject matter expert to the sales initiatives of clinical and strategic THM projects Generate sales by expanding revenues from existing clients and by leading prospecting efforts with new clients Lead and participate in new business opportunities with sales channel partners Cross-sell other Mercer and Marsh & McLennan Companies products and services to clients Incorporate compliance and professional standards into all work processes, including transparency, peer review, and maintaining required licensure Qualifications MD degree - additional MBA preferred 10+ years of experience identifying, designing, recommending and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients' complex health care benefits challenges Clinical expertise and industry reputation in the health & benefits field Proven leadership skills in managing a business to contribute to organizational revenue growth Strong innovative sales and marketing skills plus the ability to market organizational strengths successfully Ability to manage, motivate, and mentor clinical staff of all levels Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple and complex tasks in a demanding work environment Strategic planning, communication, and listening skills Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills Completion of continuing education to maintain credentials as required Mercer delivers advice and technology-driven solutions that help organizations meet the health, wealth and career needs of a changing workforce.
